Instructions
Surviving is just the baseline. To actually make progress in the Hollow, you must understand the tools of the trade.
Communications
The Hollow blocks out distant shouts, and isolation will quickly drain your sanity. Your radio is your lifeline.
- The Radio: Press
Vto access the radio interface. Tuning your radio to the same frequency as your team is the only way to coordinate over long distances. - Interference: Beware—the static means the Man is interfering with the signal. If your radio whines, you aren't alone.
Illumination
Torches are for temporary camps. True exploration requires better tech.
- Flashlights: Craft a flashlight using copper and redstone. It pierces the dark far better than a torch and doesn't require you to place it down.
- Light Discipline: Press
Fto toggle it on and off. Turn it off when you hear the static, or you'll be spotted instantly.
Establishing Safehouses
A wooden shack is a coffin waiting for a lid. The worst of the echoes will tear through standard materials.
- Barricading: Use reinforced blocks (Iron, Obsidian, Deepslate) to build your safehouses.
- Airlocks: Build layered airlocks with multiple heavy doors for your entrances. If one door breaches, the next holds.
- Waystones: Anchor your safehouses with waystones to create a fast-travel network across the Hollow.
